Hutch Police Investigating Explosion Underneath Vehicle At The Law Enforcement Center

Explosion

Hutchinson Police and ATF agents worked a possible explosion underneath a vehicle parked directly in front of the Law Enforcement Center.

Police Captain Troy Hoover says it happened shortly after midnight and they blocked the area off while they processed the scene.

The vehicle belonged to a civilian employee of the Law Enforcement Center. He says it doesn’t appear that it was a malfunction of the vehicle. The employee apparently heard a loud pop.

The explosion caused only minor damage to the vehicle. Hoover did not give the name of the employee or where they worked within the Law Enforcement Center.

Its also not known at this time what type of device it might have been with the investigation continuing.
