Hutch Police Looking For Man Involved In A Recent Fatal Accident

The Hutchinson Police Dept are still conducting the investigation in the Fatal vehicle accident that occurred on October 26 at 1st and Hendricks.

The traffic bureau is asking for anyone with information in regards to this accident to please come forward. They’re looking for one of the occupants of the vehicle for a follow-up interview. Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of Marlon Brown is asked to please call the Police dept at 620-694-2833

The accident started with a Hutchinson Police Officer being on routine patrol in the 100 block of West 1st. He observed a white Kia Sorrento traveling west bound at a high rate of speed.

The officer turned in behind the vehicle and tried to catch up, but quickly lost the vehicle after it blacked out. As the officer continued to check the area for the vehicle, dispatch was advised by a citizen of an injury accident at 1st & Hendricks. They discovered that the vehicle that they were looking for had failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway colliding with a short concrete structure and then rolling several times into a field west of that intersection. All three occupants of the vehicle were ejected in the collision sustaining extensive injuries.

Hutch Fire, EMS, Eaglemed and Midwest Lifeteam were dispatched to care for those injured.

One occupant, 37-year-old Courtney L. Morgan of Hutchinson, was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center by EMS but was pronounced dead just before midnight.

The other two occupants of the vehicle, 31-year-old Keith L. Massey of Kansas City and Marlin Brown were air lifted by Eaglemed and Midwest Lifeteam, to Via Cristi St Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita in critical condition.

Again, they are looking for Brown for a follow-up interview. If you know of his where-a-bouts, you are asked to call police at 694-2833.
