HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 22-year-old woman arrested Dec. 20 after a domestic case was back before a judge Wednesday morning where she was read three new charges.

Chelsie Pierce now faces two counts of aggravated battery and DUI after reportedly ramming her boyfriend’s car on Dec. 26. This happened when one of her children was in his car. That occurred in the 10100 block of North Wilson Road.

She is also charged in another incident with battery-domestic violence and endangering a child.

Reno County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home in the 4400 block of 108th Street on the report of a battery. They made contact with the victim who told them he had been battered by Pierce.

He stated that he was attempting to leave with a 6-month-old child and that Pierce was extremely drunk. He also said they had an argument. She was attempting to get the child back and struck the victim in the face with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground while he was holding the child. He then covered the child while she continued striking him, according to statements made in court.

When deputies arrived, they saw the victim had blood on both his upper and lower lip.

She is free on bond in both cases. They now move to a waiver-status docket later this month.
