HutchCC recognizes first-year instructors

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — In its final meeting of the 2017-18 academic year, the Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees began its May meeting with an introduction to those instructors completing their first year at HutchCC . These instructors participated in the college’s New Faculty Teaching Academy. The Academy is designed to help new instructors get oriented to the institution.

The board also received an update on its ongoing Higher Learning Commission accreditation objectives and approved several items of routine business. In addition, Ken Baker, General Manager of Radio Kansas, reported on a recently-completed fundraiser.

The BOT also approved a contract with Securitas Security Services to provide security to the campus at a cost of just under $174,000.

The next meeting of the board will be on Thursday, June 14. The meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Shears Technology Center Justice Theater. The public is invited to attend.
