Hutchinson City Council to discuss traffic signals at Tuesday meeting.

They have been out of service for several months now, and on Tuesday the Hutchinson City Council will further discuss and take action on a recommendation for the permanent removal of traffic signals at the intersection of 3rd and Maple and 4th and Maple.

The proposal continues the trend of removing traffic lights in various downtown intersections east and west of Main over the past several years. The traffic signals were removed this summer while city public works checked on the affect of the darkened traffic controls throughout that time and on into the school year. Tuesdays meeting of the Hutchinson City Council begins at 9am at the city council chambers.

The council will also consider a new contract for 911-Dispatchers which calls for their salaries for next year, staying the same as this year. The rest of the provisions in the new contract consist of only minor changes.
