WASHINGTON – The Government Finance Officers Association of the USA and Canada has awarded the City of Hutchinson with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for it’s budget. The award represents a significant achievement by the city according to a release by City Manager John Deardoff and the GOFA.

In order to receive the award the city budget presentation had to serve in four areas including, policy document, their financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.

The budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories and in the 14-mandatory criteria with those categories to receive the award.

Deardoff presented the award to City Finance Director, Dennis Bockenstedt during Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
