HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson High Salthawks overtook the Great Bend High Panthers by two points in a 50-48 game score.

The Salthawks and the Panthers were neck and neck the whole game, starting off the first quarter being tied 15-15.

By halftime, Hutchinson was down 30-27, just barely behind Great Bend.

Hutchinson’s Mekenzie Hefley hit a jumpshot and tied the score at 41-41 with less than a minute left in the third quarter.

The fourth quarter was a dash to keep the lead as the Salthawks finished off the night with a two point win of 50-48 against the Panthers.

Hutchinson High School faces Maize High School at home Tuesday, 18, at 6 p.m.
