Fire crews were called to the scene of a minor house fire in the 200 block of East 6th Tuesday afternoon. No one was hurt according to Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Miller.

He says they got a report of a structure fire at 217 East 6th, and when they arrived, they could see some light smoke coming from the rear of the residence. They went inside and located the fire just inside the back door. They were able to get that under control quickly and say they didn’t find any extension of the fire to any other parts of the house.

The occupants were outside when crews arrived, and one woman reportedly had a minor injury to her knee, but didn’t require any treatment.

No cause has been found, but only minor smoke damage reported with Miller estimating the cost at around two thousand dollars.

The fire reported just before 4 p-m.
