HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson fire crews are on standby if any water rescue is needed during the flooding.
Fire Chief Steven Beer says they have moved equipment around the city to cut down response time if a rescue is necessary:
Sheriff Randy Henderson wanted to remind residents that, while the city or county cannot take any action against those who purposely go into the rivers, they can cite individuals for going into areas that are not public tributaries. They can also cite motorists for going around barricades that are blocking off flooded areas.
