Hutchinson Fire units called to fires in the area.

Fire Units were called to the report of a fire at a home at 224 West 14th, where it appears that the fire reported was fairly minor, although did cause plenty of smoke, but the house appears to be intact. The fire started near a work bench in the basement, an appears to have been electrical.

There were no injuries according to fire officials who were just starting their investigation. That fire reported around 5:30 a-m Saturday morning. Damage estimate at 25-thousand dollars.

But, the residents at 218 East Park on the south edge of the city weren’t so lucky. That home (shown above) was completely destroyed and he lost three dogs to the fire, but fire firefighters were able top save two others.

It’s believe the fire started in a chair in the home, and careless smoking may have been the cause.

No dollar amount of damage was given, but the small home was a total loss.

The occupant was not injured in the fire reported just before 5 p-m Friday evening.
