
GREAT BEND, Kan. — Hutchinson Community College defeated Murray State College Friday evening 88-65.
Hutchinson’s Makayla Vannett scored the first three-pointer of the night to give Hutchinson an 11-9 lead with 4:46 left in the first quarter.
With one second left before the second quarter, Hutchinson’s Dejanae Roebuck knocked down a jumper to extend the Dragon lead to 22-15. Roebuck racked up 22 points to pace the Dragons.
Hutchinson scored more than double the points of Murray State in the second quarter and built a 20 point lead of 46-26 at halftime.

In the fourth quarter, the Dragons tallied their largest margin of the game. Hutchinson led 81-58 with only 4:40 left to play.
Each team managed just seven points in the final four minutes of action.
Hutchinson shot 51.5 percent from the floor, while Murray State managed just 38.3 percent.
Hutchinson Community College heads back to Great Bend to play against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Saturday at 1 p.m.
