HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 39-year-old man charged after he allegedly carjacked a woman’s vehicle was bound over for trial Tuesday on two of three charges against him.

Ricky Ray Smith Jr. will face a jury on charges of robbery and felony flee and elude while Judge Tim Chambers didn’t find enough evidence for a charge of criminal damage to property.

Smith allegedly removed a local woman from her vehicle forcibly then took off. That led to law enforcement looking for the vehicle. He was eventually spotted in South Hutchinson. Smith is alleged to have led law enforcement on a high-speed chase into the county, where he was eventually captured.
