A 20-year-old Hutchinson man accused of attempting to rob a used car dealership back on June 27 was back in court Wednesday where he entered a plea into this case as well as another

Zachary Thompson entered a plea to attempted aggravated robbery, and the state dropped the second charge of aggravated assault. The charges coming after he reportedly pulled a knife on an employee of K-96 Auto Sales at 804 West 5th, and demanding cash, even though no money or property was ever given to him. After they refused, he then left on foot.

He was spotted a few blocks away and he was placed under arrest. He had changed his clothing shedding the black hoodie he had been reportedly wearing at the time of the robbery.

He also entered a plea to aggravated battery for a case where he allegedly struck someone with a board.

Sentencing in both cases will come next month in front of Judge Joe McCarville.
