A 27-year-old Hutchinson man who’s case has been pending a jury trial since July was before Judge Tim Chambers to enter a plea in the case against him.

Robert Hill was accused of aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement, felony flee and elude and driving while suspended, for allegedly being a habitual violator. The state dropped count one and he entered pleas to the other counts.

The case starts back on April 12, 2012, when Hutchinson Police Officer Jamie Schoenhoff attempted to stop Hill who then turned into an alley, where he crashed behind a home in the 200 block of East 8th. He then allegedly ran from the vehicle, but was caught two houses down. He then allegedly picked up a shovel and threw it at the officers head, but he was able to get out of the way. He then allegedly threw another yard ornament at the officer, that being a giraffe with a plant, but again missed. He was taken into custody shortly thereafter.

Sentencing will be on April 12.
