A 36-year-old Hutchinson man arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop by Hutchinson Police at 6th & Keast, has been formally charged.

Police quickly discovered that Troy Harris had a warrant through municipal court for failing to appear for a charge of driving while suspended.

That led to the search of his vehicle and they allegedly found items consistent with drugs. They then struggled to get him into custody leading to a charge of aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer. Other charges include possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was in court Wednesday for the formal reading of the charges and Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen set his next court date for December 28. His bond remains at 31-thousand, 500-dollars.

The arrest coming just before 3 p-m on November 28.

Harris is no stranger to the law having served time for drugs in 2005, and indecent liberties with a child in 1992.
