With the score tied at seven in the tenth inning, Zenon Kolakowski came to the plate and doubled, plating Dakota Vaughn.
Zenon helped Hutchinson Monarchs take the lead for good in the tenth inning.
Andrew Standish went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for Hutchinson Monarchs. He singled in the second, seventh, and ninth innings.
Jeremy Kravetz got the win in relief for Hutchinson Monarchs. Jeremy pitched three innings and allowed no runs.
Alec Stahly couldn’t get it done on the bump for Newton Rebels, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
The bottom of the first saw Newton Rebels take an early lead, 2-0. A two-run home run by Blake Gipson, scoring Logan Knox started the inning off.
