Hutchinson Monarchs collected four hits, but Hutchinson Monarchs fell 9-0 to Wichita Wheat Kings at Hutchinson,Ks-Hobart/Detter on Thursday.

Scott Splett did his best to jumpstart the offense for Hutchinson Monarchs, reaching base two times. He singled in the first inning.

Robert Gummo got the win for Wichita Wheat Kings. He tossed seven innings of shutout ball. Gummo struck out one, walked one and gave up four hits.

Clayton Brandt, Zac Johnson and Jason Parks helped lead Wichita Wheat Kings. They combined for five hits and five RBIs.

Wichita Wheat Kings never surrendered the lead after the third inning, scoring five runs on a fielder’s choice, a groundout by Shaun Williams, an RBI single by Johnson, and a two-run triple by Parks.
