Hutchinson Police Sgt., Brian Hirt has officially released the name of the driver of the motorcycle that was involved in a hit and run accident that ended up costing a Hutchinson man part of his leg.
He’s been identified as 41-year-old Robby Lynn Heronimus of 304 E Carpenter. Hirt says in a news release that his motorcycle was a Silver 2005 Honda VTX 1100 CC.
The motorcycle that had left the scene the night of the accident had been described as a silver colored “cruiser” style motorcycle with tall “ape hanger” style handlebars, loud pipes and possibly ridden by a white male wearing a white bandanna.
The accident occurred around 9:10 p-m, that Saturday night when police were dispatched to the 1900 block of North Main for the accident involving a motorcycle verses pedestrian.
Officers found 26-year-old Jeffrey Nusser had been struck by a motorcycle traveling northbound on Main while he attempted to cross the street. He was taken by air-ambulance to Via Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita for trauma to his right leg resulting in the amputation below the knee.
Hirt says no citations have been issued against the 41-year-old man, however he says the investigation into the accident is still under investigation.
