Hutchinson Regional Announces Promotions Among Executive Staff

Three members of the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System management team have received promotions and advancements, according to an announcement made this week.

Peggy Tuxhorn, RN, Interim Vice President of Quality has been named to the position on a permanent basis, effective immediately. Tuxhorn joined Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System in June 2010, following a nine year stint in various positions within the Quality and Risk Management Departments at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Tuxhorn, a graduate of the Wesley School of Nursing, received a Master’s Degree in Management from Friends University and has attained her professional certification in Quality.

Jonathan Funk, Program Director for the Hutchinson Regional Wound & Hyperbaric Center, has accepted the position of Vice President of Business Development, effective as of September 9. Funk is a graduate of Bethel College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Sciences, and received a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Development and Organizational Development from Friends University. Prior to joining Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, Funk spent five years as Director of Human Resources, Marketing and Business Development for Summit Medical Management in Hutchinson.

Tom Borrego, JD, Director of the Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation, has been appointed to the Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System’s Executive Staff, effective immediately. Borrego completed his undergraduate studies at Wichita State University with a degree in Administrative Justice, followed by a Juris Doctorate degree from Washburn University. Prior to joining Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System in 2012, Borrego was employed in a number positions for area colleges including Director of Planned Giving at Sterling College, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Newman University, Vice President of Development at Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America, and Director of Development and Planned Giving at Wichita State University.

Kevin Miller, F.A.C.H.E., CEO and President of Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System, called the trio of healthcare professionals subject matter experts in their respective fields, and said that each is very well prepared to assume additional responsibility in service to our patients and the healthcare system.

“Whenever possible, we like to promote from within our organization when openings become available, and these three individuals rose to the top very quickly as a result of their accomplishments in the positions they currently hold,” Miller said.

Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System includes Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, Health-E-Quip, Ray E. Dillon Living Center, Hospice and HomeCare of Reno County, Horizons Mental Health Center, and the Hutchinson Regional Medical Foundation.
