The public is invited to test your Reverse Angle Parking skills in Hutchinson on Thursday, July 19th!
The Community Development Division of the Chamber will give community members the opportunity to experience back-in parking that has been a topic of discussion by the city and chamber for several months.
The event will take place on East Sherman between Walnut and Main during Third Thursday festivities.
Reverse Angle Parking is backing into a diagonal parking space instead of the usual front-in first approach. Some of the benefits of this method include: better visibility when pulling into traffic, and safer loading and unloading of vehicles.
Reverse Angle Parking is often used in conjunction with a bike lane because it allows drivers to have a clear view of oncoming cyclists.
This event is co-sponsored by the Community Development Division of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce, the Hutchinson Community Foundation, and the City of Hutchinson.
