Students who attend elementary and middle school in USD 308 will have the opportunity to see their buildings and meet their teachers prior to the first day of classes.

Both campuses of Hutchinson Middle School will have an open house on Aug. 9. HMS-7, 201 East A, will have an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. while HMS-8, 200 West 14th, will have an open house from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

All elementary schools will have open houses on Aug. 14, the afternoon and evening before the first day of classes. Check the District website for details, www.usd308.com.

Hutchinson High School’s open house was held in conjunction with enrollment Aug. 1 and 2.

In addition to seeing the schools, open houses give parents a chance to ask staff questions, turn in health and other necessary final paperwork and see what parent organizations are available.

Staff returns to work Wednesday (Aug. 8) for opening convocation. The first day of classes for students in first through ninth grades will be Aug. 15. The first day for sophomores through seniors at HHS will be Aug. 16. Kindergarteners and 4-year-olds’ first day will be Aug. 20 for boys and Aug. 21 for girls.

Families who have not enrolled for the 2012-13 school year are asked to go to their school this week and enroll in person.
