HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Progress is being made for two area school districts in their search for new superintendents.

At Hutchinson USD 308, the school board will get their final recommendation for their open position during the meeting on Jan. 4. According to Gary Sechrist with the Kansas Association of School Boards, the application process went well although he would not disclose how many applications they received. Applications are still being taken through Dec. 31.

The district hopes to have their new leader in place next month.

In Pratt, the KASB met with their board last week and have started the application process to find a replacement for long-time Superintendent Susan Patton, who retires at the end of the school year.

The district hopes to have their new leader in place by the first of February.
