A 43-year-old Hutchinson woman with three other cases pending was arrested again Wednesday by Reno County Sheriff’s deputies down in Haven.

Tonja Rae Smith of 322 East 4th was arrested for possession of stimulant drugs, namely ” Enocent,” and she was also arrested for attempting to sell the drug.

According to Deputy Mitch Harris, Smith had made arrangements to sell the drugs near the Kwik Shop in Haven, but was met by deputies. She apparently gave consent for Harris to search her vehicle and belongings where he says he found two bottles of the prescription drug in her purse.

A passenger, told the deputy that she had a prescription for the drugs, and that Smith had made arrangements to sell 40 of her pills to a person in Haven for 200-dollars. Smith apparently didn’t deny the statements from her friend, and stated that she had 5-pills on her person. She also claimed she also had a prescription for the drug, but according to Deputy Harris, she couldn’t produce one. Smith was taken to jail, while her passenger was not.

In court Thursday morning, her bond in this new case was set at 10-thousand dollars.

She also has three other cases pending, and all involve forgery and or theft. The first goes to July 29, of last year where she is accused of making a false writing involving a pawn ticket.

The second case is from November 24, of last year and the charges include forgery and theft, or possession of stolen property. This involves stealing and then forging a signature on a check. The third case is the same thing with the alleged crime occurring on December 6, 2010.

Total bonds come to 16-thousand, 500-dollars. She’ll be back in court next Wednesday on the new charges, or sooner if the state files formal charges. The other cases will be placed on a future waiver-status docket.
