The Hutchinson / Reno County Chamber of Commerce Board will meet Tuesday to discuss where they go with a search for a new chamber president, in the wake of Friday’s sudden resignation of Monty Montgomery.

Chamber Board Chair Lowell Peachey said Monday morning that he doesn’t know what direction the board will take in the search for Montgomery’s replacement, since he was only on the job just over four months.

Peachey said they may look at some of the other applications that came during the last search, or start from scratch. He estimated about 25-30 applications came in last time the board went through the search process. Then, they were searching for a replacement for Dave Kerr who stepped down as President of the Chamber after 5-years.

But he added, most of the previous applicants have probably moved on, so the board may have no choice but to start from square one, which would include a new search committee.

As we mentioned before, former Chamber President, John Daveline will take over Montgomery’s duties until a new replacement can be found.
