HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The 67-year-old man jailed back in March on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child entered “guilty” pleas to both counts Monday.
John Robert Haney was arrested by Hutchinson Police Detective Scott Carlton for incidents involving two kids, ages eight and nine. According to Carlton, the sexual contact occurring over a three month period.
The charges fall under Jessica’s Law, meaning he’s looking at a possible life sentence with no chance of parole for 25-years.
His bond remains at $150,000 and according to Senior Assistant District Attorney Steve Maxwell, sentencing will be on August 14.
