HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The 20-year-old man serving time in prison for numerous burglary and theft convictions was back before Judge Trish Rose Friday for sentencing after he entered a plea of conspiracy to traffic contraband inside the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

Judge Rose sentenced Kevin Wilson to 21-months in prison for the single count. He had been charged with an additional trafficking in contraband at the Hutchinson prison, but the state dropped that charge as a part of a plea agreement.

Wilson admitted that between Dec. 19, 2014, and Jan. 13 of this year, he attempted to introduce items into the prison not allowed including things like cell phones and cash. He admitted that he conspired with 46-year-old Bryant Colbert to commit the crimes.

Wilson is serving time for burglary and theft convictions out of Sedgwick and Butler Counties the new sentence by law has to run consecutive to the other conviction meaning more time in prison.

The co-defendant is serving time for aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated burglary and rape. Those convictions are all out of Montgomery County. Colberts case is still pending.
