Insurance Marketplace Enrollment Event to be held in Hutchinson

Doctor stuff 1

TOPEKA, Kan. — The Cover Kansas Navigator Project will host a Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment event from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, at the Hutchinson Public Library at 901 N Main.

Certified Navigators will be on hand to provide free, in-person assistance for individuals and families traversing the online application and enrollment process, which includes comparing health insurance plans, reviewing eligibility for financial assistance, answering questions, and preparing enrollment applications, as needed.

Individuals attending the enrollment event should bring basic information about their family and household including:

Names, birth dates and Social Security numbers for everyone in the household

Projected household income for 2017

Tax information, such as filing status and number of dependents

Immigration documentation and supporting identification numbers

An email address to create an online Marketplace account. Assistance can be provided for those who need to create one.

Many Kansans may be eligible for Advanced Premium Tax Credits through the Marketplace.

These credits help lower monthly insurance premiums. Some may also qualify for Cost Sharing Reductions, which automatically lowers the out-of-pocket costs associated with Marketplace plans.

For more information on this event, contact Jan Potter at 620-513-3177. Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace began Nov. 1, and ends Jan. 31, 2017. Once open enrollment ends, Navigators are available year-round to answer questions, complete special enrollment applications for those affected by a life changing event, and participate in community outreach and education events to raise awareness about the Marketplace.
