HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The trial for a former bonding agent charged with human trafficking and rape has been continued yet again much to the displeasure of Reno County district Judge Trish Rose.

Attorney Sam Kepfield who represents Dwight Jurgens and Sr. Assistance District Attorney Tom Stanton both asked for the continuance in the trial. The request came due to some video statements made that one of the parties failed to get. Rose, stating that this has gone on long enough, still granted the request then stood back, and listened to each attorney tell her that various dates would not work. She then shot back at both attorneys to figure it out, and let her know what date would work before adjourning the status hearing and leaving the court room.

Jurgens is charged with four counts of aggravated human trafficking, two counts of attempting to commit aggravated human trafficking, rape and aggravated criminal sodomy. The human trafficking and aggravated counts are charged due to his authority of controlling persons because of his bonding business. He had worked for TNT bonding at the time of the initial arrest.

All four victims allege that they were threatened with being taken back to jail if they didn’t agree to have sex with him.
