KANSAS CITY, KANSAS – A 31-year-old Johnson County man has been sentenced to 30-months in federal prison for trafficking in a pain killer called Oxycodone,

Joseph R. Jenkins was also ordered to pay restitution of $10,800 to cover the Drug Enforcement Administration’s costs of making undercover buys from him.

Jenkins pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute Oxycodone. In his plea, he admitted that on six occasions, in 2010 and 2011, he sold Oxycodone tablets to undercover investigators.

The transactions took place in the parking lot of a Cheesecake Factory in Overland Park, the parking lot of Georgetown Apartments in Merriam, the parking lot of Wholesale Foods in Overland Park, and the parking lot of Andy’s Wok in Overland Park.

In the last transaction, investigators paid $4,200 for 104 30-milligram tablets of Oxycodone.
