The 35-year-old Hutchinson man arrested Friday for indirect contempt did make a court appearance Wednesday where it was decided that there needs to be an evidentiary hearing in the situation surrounding Jason Hadley.
He has been held since last Friday with no bond when he allegedly made contact with what the state calls a confidential source, but what Hadley allegedly called a snitch. He apparently sent a number of text messages to that person which was a violation of the condition of his bond. However, the Reno County Jail Log is now showing a bond of 119-thousand.
The state has filed additional charges of intimidation of a witness and violation of a no contact order, something that was apparently a part of the conditions of his bond. He was read that complaint Wednesday morning by Magistrate Judge Randy McEwen.
His attorney, Charlie O’Hara argued that he has not seen the paperwork in his latest cases, and doesn’t know of the informant is listed as a witness in the latest two. But he says he isn’t listed in the complaint for the first case. He says his client may have not have known that he is a witness and made the contact. He told Judge Joe McCarville that he has since told his client not to talk about this case with anyone but him, not even his parents.
Judge Joe McCarville decided that there are to many blanks in this case and set an evidentiary hearing for Friday morning at 8:30 a-m.
In his drug cases, Hadley is charged with three counts for the sale of methamphetamine, allegedly less then a gram each time. He is also charged with two counts of unlawful use of a communications facility, namely a telephone to arrange a drug transaction and no tax stamp for the drugs.
Back on July 19 he was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell within a 1,000 feet of Holly Cross School, possession of steroids with intent to sell, possession of the Diazapam pill, and no drug tax stamp.
Again, a hearing on all of this will be Friday, meaning Hadley will stay in jail with no bond until then.
