HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Kansas Central Model Railroaders are hosting a model train show on the Kansas State Fairgrounds this weekend.

A number of vendors will display not only the latest model trains, but also many favorites from yesteryear. Gary Essels with the local club says some of the people who get involved with model railroading spend big bucks for engines and other items:

 

It’s easy to think an event like this is strictly for guys. Essels notes that women like it too:

 

The model railroad show is this Saturday and Sunday in the Sunflower North building. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.

The cost to get in is $6. Children under 12 are admitted free.
