Kansas woman hospitalized after driver runs stop sign in Harvey Co.

HARVEY COUNTY – A Kansas woman was injured in an accident just before 4p.m. on Sunday in Harvey County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Ford passenger car driven by Tanner M. Tubbs, 32, Lindsborg, was westbound on Northwest 12th Street at Meridian Road on the west edge of Newton.

The driver failed to stop at the stop sign and struck a northbound 2000 Kia driven by Maria L. Jacquez, 48, Hesston, which was going through the intersection.

A passenger in the Ford Ashley J. Beasley, 33, Wichita, was transported to Newton Medical Center.

Tubbs, Jacquez and a passenger in the Kia were not injured.

All four were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
