HUTCHINSON, Kan. — For the second time in the past eight years, the Hutchinson USD 308 School District is looking for a new superintendent.
And, for the second time, District Human Resources Director Rick Kraus is interested in the job.
Kraus says his interest in the job stems from what he’s learned from past leadership:
Kraus talked about some things he can bring to the table as the leader of the Hutchinson school district:
Kraus applied for the job in 2010 when then-superintendent David Flowers left. The district instead hired Jan Strecker in the interim for one year and then hired Shelly Kiblinger, who left USD 308 in April of 2017. Since then, Dr. Gary Price has been the interim superintendent.
The Kansas Association of School Boards is conducting the search for a new superintendent. The plan is to have new leadership in place by the middle of January.
