HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The last of the four county departments moving to the renovated Reno County annex is under way with the Register of Deeds office making the transition.

Children from Reno County Youth Services were seen helping move some of the items from the courthouse to the annex, which at one time was used to house inmates as part of the Reno County Jail. Once the new jail was complete, the county then began the renovation of the building, changing it from a jail to office space.

The others that have already made the move included the Treasurer’s Office, County Appraiser’s Office and the County Clerk’s Office.

Just a reminder that advance voting for the primary election is under way and you will need to go to the annex to cast your vote. The annex is across the street from the courthouse on the southeast side of 1st & Adams. Just look for the sign that says “vote here.”
