TOPEKA, Kan. — The latest unemployment numbers show a drop in the Hutchinson rate and a slight drop for Reno County.

The rate for Hutchinson last month was at 3.9 percent, down from 4.2 percent in February. Reno County’s rate was at 3.8 percent in March, down from 3.9 percent in February.

According to the numbers, there were 1,130 residents of the county looking for work last month, most live in Hutchinson.

Some of the surrounding counties saw a slight drop, while others stayed the same. One county actually saw a slight increase in its unemployment rate. Stafford County was at 2.8 percent last month, up from 2.7 percent in February.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.4 percent in March for the state of Kansas was unchanged from February and down from 3.7 percent in March 2017.
