HUTCHINSON, Kan. — It’s tradition for local law enforcement to hold an annual memorial ceremony as part of Law Enforcement Week.

This is an opportunity to remember those officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice while protecting the community.

The event will be at 11 a.m. Friday in front of the Law Enforcement Center.

The ceremony will include opening comments from Reno County Sheriff Randy Henderson and Hutchinson Police Chief Jeffrey Hooper.

There will also be an invocation with Chaplain Mel Parrott. The guest speaker will be state Sen. Dr. Ed Berger. The ceremony will recognize fallen officers with the playing of taps.

Crimestoppers and the Civitan Club will provide a lunch after the ceremony for officers and other officials.
