LEAVENWORTH – A Leavenworth woman pled no contest Friday to defrauding the Kansas Medicaid program of nearly $6,000, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.
33-year-old Margaret Scott entered a no contest plea to making a false claim to the Medicaid program.
When sentenced, Scott will be ordered to pay restitution of $5,969.64 to the Kansas Medicaid Program. Scott submitted time sheets claiming to provide personal care attendant services to a Medicaid beneficiary after the beneficiary had actually passed away.
The plea was accepted by Judge Gunnar Sundby in Leavenworth County District Court, who then entered a finding of guilty. Sentencing is set for June 22 at 10 a-m.
