HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in Hutchinson.

At around 1:47 a.m., police were dispatched to the Kwik Shop at 2617 N. Main on the report of the armed robbery.

The suspect is described as being a small-in-stature male standing 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 9 and weighing 130 to 140 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a ski mask, camo face mask and dark colored clothing. He produced a silver and black colored handgun and demanded cash from the register.

An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled on foot in a northwest direction carrying a dark colored bag.

Video surveillance is being reviewed and the case is under investigation.
