Local gas prices still below state average

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Although average gas prices nationally have fallen for the past two weeks, Kansas has bucked the trend as one of only eight states experiencing an increase at the gas pumps, according to Triple A Kansas. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline rose two cents this past week in the Sunflower State to $2.73 per gallon.

Luckily, the Hutchinson area is below that state average, with most stations at $2.66 per gallon for regular unleaded. Prices in South Hutchinson range from $2.66 to $2.70 per gallon.

Kensington in Smith County has the highest price at $3.01 per gallon. Galena in Cherokee County has the lowest at $2.55.
