HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A local man faces a possible charge of arson after he allegedly set a reclining chair on fire. The chair did not belong to him.

Dallas Schwartz was arrested Saturday evening after law enforcement arrived to see the chair burning in a Hutchinson driveway. Officers ordered him away from the flames, but he didn’t cooperate. Authorities eventually used a taser on him and took him into custody. The arrest also led to a potential charge of interference with law enforcement.

In court, his wife indicated that he’s had mental issues in the past, which may have led to him setting the fire.

Bond in the case was set at $6,500. Schwartz will be back before a judge on May 20.
