HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 23-year-old man failed to get his bond lowered while making a first appearance for aggravated assault – domestic violence and criminal damage.

Jamie Gonzalez was allegedly intoxicated when his roommate and her kids came home to their residence on East D Street. He was apparently angry and allegedly grabbed a couple of large kitchen knives and threatened her with them. She told police she locked the two kids ages three and five in a room in the residence. He was apparently using the knives to stab the table while threatening her.

In court, he asked for a signature bond or at least a reduction of the bond which was denied because of other incidents involving domestic cases in Sedgwick County.

He’s expected back in court next week for the formal reading of charges.
