HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 50-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to a Wichita hospital after he was found laying in a city street.

Around 6:52 p.m., police noticed Jerry Johnson laying in the street in the 300 block of North Ford. There were no other vehicles around other than the motorized bicycle that Johnson was riding. No witnesses observed the collision.

Johnson was first transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, then transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for an injury to the right side of his head and shoulder pain.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. Johnson was not wearing a helmet.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Hutchinson Police Traffic Bureau.
