Local man makes court appearance on stalking charges

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A local man was before District Judge Joe McCarville for the reading of charges in two cases against him.

One case against Timothy L. Howard is for three counts of stalking and three counts of violation of a protection from abuse order. The order from Municipal Court out of Spokane, Washington.

The first two charges reflect contact with the alleged victim April 9, the second two charges for contact on May 6 and the final two for contact on May 9. The state in the complaint that with the contact, Howard may have placed the victim in reasonable fear for her own safety or the safety of a family member.

The other case against Howard is for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. That case goes back to Oct. 2. He was arrested along with 25-year-old Kelly M. Shackelford at his home in the 700 block of Carey St.

Shackelford was also in court to hear the charges of being possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia against him.
