HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A 19-year-old Hutchinson man who was arrested just after midnight Sunday in the 300 block of North Cleveland on drug charges was before a judge Monday morning where he was told of potential charges.

Skylin A. Johnson was jailed for possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, no tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police apparently made a traffic stop after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. When the officer made contact with Johnson, he could see a clear plastic bag between the seats on the console. That led to a search of his vehicle where they allegedly found 11 individual bags of marijuana, some Hydrocodone pills and owe sheets.

Bond at the time of his arrest was set at $11,000, but during the first appearance, Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen lowered it to $6,000.

Johnson will be back in court on Nov. 30 when the formal charges will be read.
