Lorrie J. Forbes, 86, of Hutchinson, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born January 23, 1931, in Hutchinson, to Clarence Arthur and Cora Leal (Smith) Barnes.

Lorrie was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, playing the piano, reading the Bible, and visiting with friends and family. Lorrie was a member of Full Gospel Fellowship Church.

On June 2, 1976, she married Gary Forbes in Hutchinson. He died March 6, 2009, after sharing 33 years of marriage.
Lorrie is survived by: sons, Kim Forbes and wife Marilyn, Jerree Forbes and wife Cathy, all of Hutchinson; and grandchildren, Joshua Forbes and wife Andrea, Amy McNary and husband Andrew, Jeriah Forbes and wife Lifang, Meriah Moore and husband Brian, Samuel Forbes, Joseph Forbes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; siblings, E.D. Barnes, George Barnes, Clifford Barnes, Viola Starks, Bessie Vater, Cora Lee Preston, the Reverend Clara Jenks, and Clarence Barnes, Jr.; two half-sisters, Annie Barnes and Mildred Guizlo; and great-granddaughter, Grace Forbes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Full Gospel Fellowship Church or Gideons International, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
