HUTCHINSON, Kan. – An 18-year-old Hutchinson man was before a judge Monday where he was told of potential charges against him which includes two counts of auto burglary, criminal damage, theft and criminal trespass.
One of the vehicles reportedly belonged to a Rice County Sheriff Deputy who reported that she came downstairs in her home in the 3200 block of Nutmeg and found Rowdy S. Doherty in her home. She took him into custody and search his pockets and found the keys to her vehicle and other items taken from her vehicle as well as one other.
He is also alleged to have damaged a garage door and the walls inside the garage.
In court he was able to get a bond reduction from Judge Joe McCarville going from $11,000 to $5,000.
He’ll be back in court next week to see of the state has filed formal charges.
