HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old man arrested on drug and other charges and failed to show in court was arrested and appeared Monday morning.

Lucas Mobley was read for the formal charges which include aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to package and criminal use of a weapon.

He along with 60-year-old Murray Mobley are both accused of pointing a gun at the officers. In both cases, they were ordered to drop the weapons after repeated warnings — both finally did.

Lucas Mobley is alleged to have been in possession of a modified shotgun and other gun parts, as well as drugs, including 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.

In court, he argued over the first charge telling Magistrate Judge Cheryl Allen that the officer didn’t have a uniform and in fact was wearing a ski mask. The judge advised him that he can discuss that with his attorney.

Judge Allen also denied any bond modification after Judge Trish Rose raised his bonds in cases before her, meaning his bonds now total $250,000.
