HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old man with a previous conviction for the sale of drugs is jailed on a $100,000 bond after drug enforcement officers were doing surveillance on him Wednesday night. Officers learned Christopher Krebbs was going to Wichita to buy methamphetamine.

Officers followed him to a residence on Waverly Street in Wichita — known for drug activity. There’s some indication that Krebbs had met with individuals from that residence in the past.

Once Krebbs was back in Reno County, officers performed a traffic stop on K-96 at Worthington Road. They searched the vehicle and found a bundle in the glove compartment, several burnt marijuana cigarettes, two glass pipes and a Taurus 40-caliber handgun.

Krebbs told law enforcement that the bundle contained nothing good. Officers also found a zip-close bag of suspected meth on his person. Total weight of the meth was around one pound.

It’s unlawful for Krebbs to have a weapon because of a prior conviction for the sale of drugs for a case in 2010 from Sedgwick County. He also has a conviction for the sale of drugs for a case that goes back to 2003 in Reno County.
