Marilyn A. Fesler | 1935 – 2019 |

Marilyn Ann Fesler, 84, died November 12, 2019, at Waldron Place, Hutchinson. She was born March 6, 1935, in Great Bend, the daughter of August and Clara (Hullman) Sittner.

Marilyn graduated from Hudson High School in 1953, Hutchinson Community College in 1955, and received her bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State University in 1957.  She was a business teacher at Sylvia and Pretty Prairie High Schools and substitute business teacher at Fairfield High School. Marilyn was active in Plevna Community Bible Church and Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church.

On July 20, 1958, she married Melvin F. Fesler in Hudson. He died November 24, 2003.

Marilyn is survived by: daughters, Kathy Dick (Dayul), Hutchinson, Kris Murphy (Justin), Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, Dustin Dick (Amanda), Buhler, Devin Dick, Burrton, Kaley Dick, Fayetteville, AR, Alec Murphy (Jessica), Peoria, IL, Spencer Murphy, Knoxville, TN, Shanae Schmucker, Hutchinson, Clay Schmucker, Hutchinson; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Hollie, and Logan Dick, Hudson and Avy Murphy; brother, Marvin Sittner, Hudson; sister-in-law, Glenda Sittner, Hudson; and son-in-law, Kelly Schmucker (Cindy), Hutchinson.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Karen Schmucker; brother, Larry Sittner; and sister-in-law, Arlene Sittner.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2019, at Abbyville Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church, 415 N. West St., with Pastors Dustin Dick and Curt Vogt officiating. Friends may sign her memorial book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Buhler Mennonite Brethren Church Youth Group, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
