MARION – The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the attempted abduction of a 12-year-old girl from a park in the small town of Ramona.
According to a news release from the Marion County Sheriff, it happened around 5:00 p-m, the 12-year-old girl was playing in a park when a dark complected man pulled up in a black newer model Ford Mustang.
The driver told the child that her mother had sent him to pick her up. The 12-year-old replied, “I doubt that.” The driver once again told her to get into the vehicle, that her mother had sent him to pick her up. The little girl then asked him to tell her his mothers name, and he couldn’t answer. She the ran from the man, went home and told her mother.
The vehicle is again described as a newer model black mustang with a large red wolf emblem across the back window with the words, “Hide me.” below it. The man again described by the 12-year-old as being a dark complected man, but race is unknown. He was wearing a red and black camouflage patterned hat. She says the man had a large scab or mole on his right cheek.
Dickinson, McPherson, Saline, and Morris Counties, as well as Herrington, Kansas Police were contacted by Marion County authorities and the case is still under investigation.
